What is Play Therapy?

Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate, evidence-based way to work with children in counseling.

Children communicate through their behavior, and their play.  Play is how they process the world around them, make sense of past or current events, express feelings, and develop a sense of self.

The brain learns best by EXPERIENCE, and that’s especially true for children.  Play allows a child to express themselves in their most natural way, and feel understood by a safe adult.

Play therapy sessions can be one-on-one with your child and myself, parent-child or family sessions, or a combination.  We will work together to figure out the best option for your family.
